4:05-5:15 pm ~ Clarke MS
Building Reports:
* Barnum Woods: No report. There was a question about next year's school calendar;
* Bowling Greene: No report
* McVey: Chaperone pay- unit vs pay (James explained 1 unit=4 hours or less, 4 or more hours=double). Question about the suicide prevention training- Turn key vs getting paid for the training? CTLE hours not being entered on Frontline?
* Meadowbrook: No report
* Parkway: Contract proposals? James mentioned that they will start at the end of this school year. There seems to be a lack of representation of elementary compared to MS and HS. Elementary stipends are different for different things compared to MS and HS. Question about observations: How is it decided who comes to observe which teachers?
* Woodland: No report. Announced Founder’s Day nominees are two parents and the principal.
* Clarke MS: Parking lot situation- not enough spots for the hired staff. Everyone is fighting for a spot or are forced to park on the side streets because parking lots aren't big enough for all the staff. Heat- since it’s been turned on, the vent is spitting out black soot, dust and poor air quality. Dean was made aware. James will mention it again.Library and safety situation- no strobe lights or speakers or alarms in case of emergency or fire drills. James said central is aware but he will follow up again at the next central meeting.
* EMHS: Question about class coverages and sub pay
* Clarke HS: Shared FYI- past years-Hofstra Student teacher/observers, we couldn’t get paid for having them but now, moving forward, if we have a student teacher or an observer from Hofstra we can get paid for it. (They are not giving retro-pay). There was a question about CPR training for all teachers throughout the district?
